49ers QB Cleared, Key Players Out for Washington Clash

The final injury report for the 49ers quarterback has been officially cleared. Five players, three of them impressive, were sidelined in red and gold. Those players are DT Arik Armstead (foot, knee), S Ji’Ayir Brown (knee), TE Ross Dwelly (ankle), WR Jauan Jennings (concussion), T Jaylon Moore (concussion). Armstead was due to appear earlier this week and will likely continue to appear. The plantar fasciitis injury from last year reared its ugly head again.

Armstead will continue to update each week until the pain in his leg subsides. As for Jennings, this will be the second game in a row he has missed with a concussion.

This is now a concern for him. The 49ers need to readjust their tone. Brown ended up spraining his knee against the Ravens, so he didn’t have a shot to be active against the Chiefs. Veteran Logan Ryan, on the other hand, fills the void. It’s unclear at this point, but I would suspect that Brown will be in the season finale against the Rams.

The last two players, Dwelly and Moore, are depth pieces, so their loss will only be felt if multiple players at their position get injured in the game. All of these injuries are yet another reminder why getting the No. 1 pick is crucial for the 49ers.

The bye week gives players incredible time to recover and rest. Here, the 49ers are in a dubious position against the commander. G Aaron Banks (toe), LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (illness), WR Danny Gray (shoulder), RB Jordan Mason (illness), CB Ambry Thomas (knee, hand)
