49ers Stage Remarkable Comeback, Secure Super Bowl LVIII Berth

SANTA CLARA – The 49ers turned their game and success around in the second half of Sunday’s 34-31 win over the Detroit Lions at Leviand#039;s Stadium to punch a ticket to Super Bowl LVIII.Down 24-7 at halftime, Nick Bosa knew the defense had to play better. The Lions exploded on the field and in the air and on the ground.

The All-Pro defensive end described the scene in the locker room at halftime after the game.”I was on the ground with a heat pack and I was just yelling random things trying to attract people…” Bosa said as he paused and sighed. “Not so casual, but there’s so much football left. We made some changes. I said take that first chapter away and we’ll come home. And our kids did.” Detroit quarterback Jared Goff completed 13 of 20 attempts for 145 yards in the first half, while the Lions’ back three combined for 148 yards on the ground.Bosa and the defense knew they had the potential to play better, but it just didn’t happen.

“I was just trying to encourage the group and there is so much football left,” Bosa said. – We were able to score very quickly in attack, we only had to leave the field to start the attack. Kyle Shanahan also felt discontent in the locker room. The message from the 49ers coach was very similar to that of his All-Pro wide receiver.”I talked about how to start playing the right way,” Shanahan said. – We respect our team too much. It would be a very difficult way to end it if we couldn’t play better with our group. It had to do with their style of football.

Bosa told his teammates that in the first half there was a lack of trust in each other and everyone contributed.”I’m just trying to tell everybody to do their job,” Bosa said. “That’s all we have to do. Just go one-eleven. There were crashes in the first half. One man at a time. Obviously, it’s hard for me to figure out exactly what’s going on, but you just have to do your job.”Bosa and the defense came out with a different mindset and attitude in the second half.

  • They held Goff and the Lions offense. to just seven points. with two fourth-down stops, a turnover and a five-drive punt..“I was so proud of the guys,” Shanahan said. andquot; They didn’t really care about anything other than being able to win. You see it on their faces, you see it at halftime, you see it in the third quarter, you see it the rest of the game..
