BAD NEWS : Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl Legend To Undergo Surgery …

The Eagles scored 31 points against the Cardinals on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough to win the game. Arizona scored four touchdowns in the second half and dominated for nearly 40 minutes as it came back from a 15-point deficit to win 35-31 at Lincoln Financial Field.

The loss vaulted the 49ers into first place in the NFC playoff race and opened the door for the Cowboys to win the NFC East next weekend by defeating the Chiefs. That would mean the Eagles would need three wins to get back to the Super Bowl, and that would require a much better defensive performance than the one they got Sunday.

That performance came after the Eagles switched play-calling duties from defensive coordinator Sean Desai to senior assistant Matt Patricia, with head coach Nick Sirianni asking what the team could do to improve the struggling unit. “I believe,” Sirianni said. – I still believe in the men of the dressing room, the players. I still believe in coaches.

I think the boys here need to be guided in the right direction. Of course, we don’t have much time. We have one more game before the playoffs and we have to do everything we can to get back on track next week. I think the last two games were spurts where we played good ball defensively. Tonight was not one of those times.” The Eagles close out the season next weekend against the Giants and will have to play much better for everyone outside the organization to share Sirianni’s belief in what they can do.
