Chubba Purdy, Brother of 49ers’ QB, Commits to San Jose State for 2024 Season

.Make room for another Purdy.Chubba Purdy, the younger brother of 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, announced via X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday that he has committed to San Jose State.

Purdy spent two seasons at Nebraska after originally playing at Florida State. He has two years of eligibility remaining after completing 53 of 105 passes for 529 yards in 12 games with the Cornhuskers in 2022-23.Purdy, a junior, also held postseason scholarship offers from Cal and North Texas State, according to X- nutri.

He supported Brock for two seasons at Perry High in Gilbert, Arizona. Chubba Purdy passed for 3,425 yards and 36 touchdowns and 1,152 yards and 23 touchdowns as a junior.

He had 45,423 yards and 52 touchdowns as a senior. At 6-foot-1, 217 pounds,Chubba Purdy was more heavily recruited than his brother out of high school.

He originally committed to Louisville before transferring to Florida State.Purdy’s first name is Preston but he was nicknamed Chubba at 38kg 1 year old and the name stuck. 4,444 4,444 San Jose State will have a new starting quarterback in 2024 after Chevan Cordero’s eligibility expires..
