Done deal: Trent Williams signs additional 1year contract worth $11 million with 49ers in what is said to be the most shocking in NFL history …..
49ers Rumors: George Kittle, Trent Williams Reshuffle Trades Due to Nick Bosa Deal.
The San Francisco 49ers re-signed tight end George Kittle and linebacker Trent Williams in finalizing defensive end Nick Bosa’s record extension.
The 49ers carried $10.6 million of Kittleand’s base salary and $18.2 million of Williams from base salary to signing bonuses,
creating a $23.2 million cap hit, according to Field Yates of ESPN. As part of the restructuring, a void was added to Kittle’s contract through 2026 and Williams’ contract through 2027.

Per the league and collective bargaining agreement, from the first day of the league year until the Wednesday before Week 1, only the top 51 salaries on the roster are counted toward their cap.
The 49ers signed Bosa to a five-year, $170 million extension on Wednesday, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history, ESPN Adam Schefter reported. The deal includes $122.5 million in guarantees.Bosa made a base salary of $18.9 million in 2023, the final year of his rookie contract.
The full structure of the contract of Bosa has not been released, but it and likely the deal is designed to also lower his $18.9 million cap hit.
The 49ers have some sort of deal coming up in 2024, as they were already expected to exceed the projected cap, even without considering Bosan’s new deal.
We all know enough about the cap at this point to know the numbers could change, but Williams ($31.6 million), Deebo Samuel ($28.6 million), Arik Armstead ($25.9 million), Fred Warner ($24, $5 million) and Kittle ($22 million) are all big caps.
San Francisco will benefit greatly from the NFL’s cheapest quarterback over the next few seasons, and Brock Purdy won’t get more than $1.1 million on his rookie contract that runs through 2025.
