The Philadelphia Eagles have been in a tough spot lately, losing their third game in a row against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night.
The loss was especially stinging when Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock led the defending NFC champion’s drive to victory when he hit wide receiver Jaxson Smith-Njigba for a 29-yard touchdown with 28 seconds left.
And after Julian Love took down Jalen Hurts for the second time, the Eagles officially lost their third straight. After the game, a frustrated Hurts called out his team, saying he wasn’t sure if enough had been done this season. “I’ve talked all year about execution, being on the same page, everybody on the same page,”
Hurts said, according to NFL.com. “We haven’t executed. I don’t think we are, we all are, we’re pretty committed. It just has to be turned around. You know, it’s a challenge that we have to accept. Just keep looking at it. .
” Hurts also took responsibility for his own play and later stated that the road to improving the team starts with himself. “Everybody has a role to play in this,” Hurts said.
“It starts with me. “We have to pick ourselves out of it… We have to make an internal change in how we attack things. How we come to work every day. It starts with the small things, how committed we are to what we do. And it all starts with me, the quarterback. It’s a challenge I accept.
As hard as these times are, I still see light at the end of the tunnel. “Just a matter of faith.”
