Eagles’ Playoff Aspirations Jeopardized by DeVonta Smith Injury
The Philadelphia Eagles have struggled recently. The team went 1-4 in December and fell to second place in its division. If the Dallas Cowboys defeat the Washington Commander on Sunday, Dallas will take home the division title. However, the Eagles have an 11-5 postseason record.
Heading into the playoffs, you want as much momentum as possible, so the Eagles’ regular season finale against the Giants could be very important. Going into this game, however, the Eagles had some pretty harsh news to report. The Philadelphia Eagles have struggled recently.

Going into this game, however, the Eagles had some pretty harsh news to announce. Eagles fans were understandably concerned to see Smith leave Lincoln Financial Field on crutches and a boot. Fortunately, it looks like the Alabama product could play in the first round of the playoffs. After the Eagles’ loss to the Cardinals, the Eagles are unlikely to win the NFC East — the Cowboys must beat the Commanders next week to secure the title — and may have to settle for the No. 5 seed.
That means no first-round bye and no home field advantage for the Eagles. However, if Dallas somehow loses against Washington, the Eagles matchup with New York will be huge. One of the most talented playmakers of the equipment, Smith had three receptions for 30 yards for a loss. So far this season, Smith has 81 catches for 1,066 yards and seven touchdowns. Since the Eagles selected Smith in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Smith has not missed a game. However, if he misses out, the Eagles will have to replace Smith’s ability to play A.J. brown
