Eagles Staffer Fined $100K, Banned from Sidelines
The NFL league office has reviewed the unconventional actions of team security staffer DiSandro, held discussions with “Big Dom,” determined his punishment—he is prohibited from returning to the sidelines for the remainder of the regular season—and has considered his appeal.
The $100,000 fine imposed on DiSandro following his involvement in a peculiar altercation on the sideline during the Eagles’ game against the San Francisco 49ers on December 3 remains unchanged.
DiSandro, now gaining either fame or notoriety depending on one’s Eagles fandom level, found himself in a scuffle with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw.
Both DiSandro and Greenlaw were ejected from the game, constituting what some might consider a favorable outcome for Philly. “Big Dom” was indisputably in violation of league rules. The purpose of the appeal remains unclear, except for the possibility that DiSandro might not readily have $100,000 available.
