Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny looks set to be available for the Gunners for their Premier League trip to Liverpool. The 31-year-old Arsenal ace made his first start of the season just under two weeks ago when they faced PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League. However, Elneny had to leave the field in the 62nd minute when he injured Martin Odegaard’s knee joint.
Fortunately, it didn’t become a long break. On Friday, Arsenal released pictures of their players in training and Elneny could be seen in the session.
Arsenal get a boost as Mohamed Elneny returns to Gunners training
With Thomas Partey still out and Jorginho a doubt for the game, it will be good to see Elneny back in training and perhaps Arteta naming his squad.
The Egypt international has been a key member of Arteta’s squad over the years. He brought the right attitude to the dressing room and did well when called upon. Unfortunately, Elneny has been plagued by injuries in recent years. He missed most of last season with hamstring problems and a knee injury and didn’t return until September of this year.
Hopefully these issues are now fully behind us and the ‘brilliant’ talent can help Arsenal in their quest for silverware this season. The Gunners are in a tight race for the Premier League title in the last 16 of the Champions League and will qualify for the FA Cup at the third round stage in January. So there is enough to fight for.
