Hurts Talks Team Frustration, Coach Tanney, and Preparing for Gannon’s Defense
On his teammates frustration
Hurts was seen talking to DeVonta Smith and then Jason Kelce in the locker room after the game. He explained that these are conversations that happen in every game, but it’s not something that a lot of people don’t see — it’s all about the pursuit of excellence.
The QB said it takes all 11 guys and good communication to play at the level they want. “These conversations only make our team better. We talk about what we’ve seen and how we can move forward. Quarterback A.J. was asked. Brown was upset after the Giants game, but Hurts said he didn’t want to speak in favor of the surgery.
“I don’t know. I know he’s a competitive person. He demands a lot from himself and that goes for everyone else in the locker room. Like I said, he has a standard for himself and he doesn’t compromise on that. He demands it from himself and he wants that from his teammates and everyone around them.”
On Eagles QB coach Alex Tanney
“[Tanney] always has. He’s always had a role. The role has changed a little bit this year, but he’s been good. He’s been good. And it’s been a learning year, and we’re all in that [QB] room. .”
On getting a win against the Giants

And it’s been a year of learning and we’re all in that [QB] room. .andquot; The QB later said he doesn’t really have an answer for how he’ll spend 24 hours enjoying a win, but once he reaches that goal, he’ll go look at the things he couldn’t or didn’t do. do according to your standard.
Winning is the most important thing, but these experiences are valuable, and every time he plays or takes a representative, there is a new experience in the bank. Hurts also wasn’t interested in how people feel about the team’s enthusiasm to win, saying that everyone uses different things as motivation, but as long as they do things together and on the same page, it doesn’t matter how they act after winning.
On facing former DC Jonathan Gannon
Hurts said the familiarity between him and Gannon goes both ways. “Obviously, I have a lot of respect for coach Gannon over there and coach Nick [Rallis].
We’ve built a good relationship with him and it’s going to be a challenge for us. I know how he is. I know his enthusiasm and his love for the game and I know the team they have there, so we have to be ready to play – play at a high level. The QB talked about talking to Gannon on the sideline during practice last year to pick his brain, and he mentioned doing the same with Matt Patricia this year.
He later talked about the Cardinals’ defense, saying they have great players on that side of the ball, starting with Budda Baker as a leader. They fly to the ball and are very tough, so the Eagles offense has to go and execute and play clean football.
