When the Seattle Seahawks needed a hero to save them from the brink of defeat by the Philadelphia Eagles, Drew Lock answered the call. Even better than the story, the veteran quarterback didn’t even know before kickoff if he was going to start or not. But that didn’t matter to Locke. He was ready for whatever role the Seahawks wanted him to play, and that was evident after he scored a touchdown in Seattle’s 20-17 win. With 33 seconds left in regulation and the Seahawks trailing the Eagles 17-13, Lock got the job done with an epic 29-yard pass to Jaxson Smith-Njigba in the right corner of the end zone. DK Metcalf also deserves credit for the two incredible catches he made earlier in the game, although it cannot be denied that Lock did everything possible. Starting in place of the injured Geno Smith, the 27-year-old signal caller completed a 10-play, 92-yard drive in less than 90 seconds. The Seahawks were rightfully rewarded for their determination that allowed them to keep their postseason hopes alive. The Week 15 Monday Night Football showdown was Drew Lock’s second start of the season. He also only played three games before leaving, which makes his clutch performance even more impressive. Several Seahawks fans couldn’t contain their joy at seeing Lock lead them to victory, especially after everything he’s been through, from highly touted starters to backup QBs. “Drew Lock is a rare breed of supremely confident Sigma Chad. There aren’t many QBs in the NFL. Even the highest quality have confidence issues. Drew Lock always thinks he’s going to win.” Always think he’s the best QB on the field. Icon,” wrote Jack McGuire of Barstool. One fan added: “TODAY DREW LOCK PROVED HE CAN COME BACK AND WIN MATCHES.” “Chance, faith, belief and persistence pay off for SEA QB Drew Lock,” shared another commenter. The quarterback added, “This win is so good, we needed it when it mattered most and if it wasn’t for Drew Lock and our receivers [I don’t know] where we would have been. GO HAWKS.” The lock is definitely worth enjoying for a moment. Hopefully he gets another chance to show what he can do with the Seahawks.
