NFL Upholds Fine and Suspension for Eagles’ DiSandro
The NFL has rejected Eagles safety Dom DiSandro’s appeal of a $100,000 fine and sideline suspension for the rest of the regular season for his role in a fight with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw, a person familiar with the league’s decision said. Associated Press on Friday.
The team paid the fine, said the person, who spoke anonymously, because the matter has not been resolved. DiSandro continues to be allowed to travel and perform all other duties.
AP previously announced the suspension on December 16. DiSandro could return in the postseason.
DiSandro pulled Greenlaw away from Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith and yelled at him after the reception in the third quarter of Philadelphia’s 42-19 loss to San Francisco on Dec. 3.
Greenlaw, who was penalized for unnecessary roughness on the show, jumped outside and walked past two officials to put his hands in DiSandro’s face.
