Playoff Scenarios Take Shape in NFL Week 17
The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers could both be in contention for the top seed in their conferences during NFL Week 17 games. The Ravens can clinch first place in the AFC on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. They can also win or tie for the AFC North title on Sunday, or get a loss or tie by the Cleveland Browns against the New York Jets on Thursday.
The 49ers can hold on to first place in the NFC with a win against the Washington Commander on Sunday, also beating the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles. San Francisco is already the NFC West champion. The Ravens won 33-19 against the 49ers on Monday.
In the AFC, the Buffalo Bill needs a win or a tie and several scenarios that include the Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans to make the finals. The Browns advance to the finals with a win or a tie.
Cleveland can also make postseason plans with a Steelers loss or tie, Jaguars loss or tie, or Bills loss. A Texans loss or tie along with a Colts loss or tie also works in their favor. The Jaguars earn a playoff spot and the AFC South title with a win over the Colts and a loss over the Texans. The Kansas City Chiefs clinch a playoff spot and the AFC West title with a win or a tie.
They will do the same with a Las Vegas Raiders loss or tie along with a Denver Broncos loss or tie. The Dolphins clinch the AFC East with a win or a tie. They will also be honored in Bill loss or equity. The Ravens and Dolphins have already reached a playoff spot in the AFC. In the NFC, the Los Angeles Rams clinched a playoff spot with a win and a loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
They also get back to the postseason and a Packers-Vikings tie. The Philadelphia Eagles win the NFC East with a win and the Dallas Cowboys lose or tie. They also overcame an NFC East tie and a Cowboys loss. The Seahawks clinch a playoff spot with a win and a Packers-Vikings tie.
The Buccaneers will win the playoffs and the NFC South title. Tampa also gets the NFC South title with a tie and a Falcons loss. The Lions, 49ers, Cowboys and Eagles have already reached playoff spots in the NFC.
