Purdy Ready for Redemption Against Washington After Tough Loss
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy had the worst performance of his career on Christmas Eve in a 33-19 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
The second-year signal caller and NFL MVP candidate threw four interceptions before being pulled in the second half after spraining his throwing shoulder.
That performance pushed him out of the No. 1 spot in the MVP odds and makes Sunday’s game against the Washington Commander a must-win if the 49ers look to gain home-field advantage in the NFC playoffs. There is good news on that front. Purdy told reporters Thursday that he is good and ready to go on a four-game hitting streak. “No, it was good,” Brock Purdy said when asked about the injury.
“It’s just been a lot of healing and everything. Just working out the pain all over the shoulder area, the trap area. But it feels good, so I’ll be good at this game.” It is highly unlikely that this injury will affect Purdy too much on Christmas Eve. Two of his interceptions came on tipping passes. He continued to get the ball down the field (255 yards on 32 attempts).
