Rams Playoff Opponent Uncertain: Cowboys, Eagles, or Lions?
The Los Angeles Rams already punched their ticket to the postseason after a 26-25 win over the New York Giants last week, and with one game left in the regular season, they’ll soon find out who they’ll be opening against. in the finals. Much is still up in the air in the NFC playoff picture, including the NFC East rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. The Rams still don’t know who they’ll face when the playoffs open, but fans have three potential opponents to get used to. The Cowboys, Eagles, and Detroit Lions are all possible matchups for LA, and we’ll take a look at all three below. The Rams will face all three of these teams, so we’ll also look at their record at home in the 2023 season.
Dallas Cowboys
Current Record: 11-5
Record at Home: 8-0
Previous Meeting: 2023 — Cowboys 43, Rams 20

The Cowboys are still chasing the NFC East title, a crown they can claim if they beat the Washington Commander on Sunday or suffer another loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles. After spending much of the season in the wild-card portion of the NFC playoffs, Dallas could likely clinch the conference’s second seed this season and host several playoff games at AT&T Stadium, including a matchup with the Rams. Also of note, the Cowboys appear to be a different team at AT&T Stadium, riding a 16-game winning streak in Arlington that dates back to Week 2 of last season.
Philadelphia Eagles
Current Record: 11-5
Record at Home: 6-2
Previous Meeting: 2023 — Eagles 23, Rams 14
Speaking of the NFC East title, the Eagles still have hopes for that as well entering Week 18, but they no longer control their own destiny in that regard after an upset loss to the Arizona Cardinals at home on Sunday. Philly looked like one of the best teams in the NFL in the early portions of the season, but they have fallen on difficult times as of late, dropping four of their last five games.
Detroit Lions
Current Record: 11-5
Record at Home: 5-2
Previous Meeting: 2021 — Rams 28, Lions 19
If the season ended today, it would be Ramsand#039; opening round matchup in the playoffs, with the Lions holding three points and L.A. 6. Detroit has already clinched the NFC North, its first division title in 30 years and its first in the North. In a way, it would be poetic if Matthew Stafford opened the postseason against his former team in Detroit, where he worked from 2009 to 2020 before being traded to Los Angeles.
