Ravens Dominate 49ers, Secure Top NFL Record
The Baltimore Ravens had a great 2023; before the Christmas Day game against the San Francisco 49ers, the team led by Lamar Jackson boasted an 11-3 record and appeared to be one of the most legitimate contenders in the entire NFL.
They further proved their championship-ness by overwhelmingly destroying the 49ers and putting lumps of coal in their sock instead, frustrating Brock Purdy and company en route to a 33-19 win that wasn’t as close as the final score suggests.
There are now two games left for the Ravensand#039; season, they are now the proud owners of the best record in the NFL. While nothing is set in stone in the AFC playoff picture just yet, Jackson and company are making a definite statement. Facing the Miami Dolphins, the current second seed in the AFC, on an afternoon with New Year’s Eve approaching, the Ravens could not have chosen a better time to show their rivals what they and#039; 039; is really done. In fact, after Ravensand#039; MVP candidate Lamar Jackson pointed out that the team works best in adversity, which should strike fear into the hearts of Tua Tagovailoa and the rest of the Dolphins. – I think we play better under pressure.
We keep our composure, we stay locked into the game no matter what it looks like, no matter how loud the crowd is, no matter how hard the defense hits us,” Jackson said, per ESPN’s Jamison Hensley. As 039 points out, the Ravens in 2023 did put some upsets on the table against top teams.
They were able to demolish the NFC North leader Detroit Lions 38–6 in Week 7 and their closest division rival the Cleveland Browns in a 28–3 loss in Week 3. Meanwhile, the Dolphins collapsed against some of the number 039 rivals of the league, suffering losses to the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills. But whatever it is, one thing is clear; The Ravens and Dolphins all miss next week, which has significant playoff implications.
