Rookie Sensation’s Season Cut Short by Tragic Off-Field Incident

Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson recently visited the local Riley Children’s Hospital to spread holiday cheer and serve others in the spirit of giving.

There, he met with some of the Indy media and talked about his ongoing rehab from season-ending shoulder surgery:”I think I’m progressing faster than everybody thought,” Richardson said at Riley’s Children. The hospital said Tuesday via CBS4’s Mike Chappell.

“They said 16 weeks after surgery, but hopefully I’ll try (to come back) before then,” Richardson added. “But we’ll see. Hopefully I can throw next month, but if I don’t, I know that whenever that time comes, I’m going to tear it up.

“Richardson is currently about eight weeks post-op, which means he’s theoretically about halfway there. he should be allowed to throw a football again – regardless of continued medical advice from doctors and training staff.Under new head coach Shane Steichen, the Colts have surprisingly held their own during Richardson’s long absence, even though they currently share the last wild card in the AFC. It’s truly a testament to Steichen’s excellent coaching so far.

Interim starting quarterback Gardner Minshew had good and bad games, but he may have won games when he was most needed to relieve Richardson in 2023.Still, there’s no denying that Richardson got there quickly. Starting rookie quarterback with three passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns in first four starts. Had he been fully healthy, he would have given the Colts a much more dynamic option as a starting quarterback because of his strong hands and mobility with Minshew.(*And if nothing else, made the Colts offense a lot more fun and exciting because of his elite athleticism and unique quarterback skills).

That said, it appears that Richardson may be a little ahead of schedule in his ongoing rehab, which is very encouraging news for the Colts entering the new year, although they are still rightly focused on finishing the 2023 campaign. a deep playoff push. Here are some special photos of Richardson giving and showing support for the Riley kids:.
