49ers injury report: Trent Williams not on the roster, good start against Washington The 49ers’ injury report is still complete, but they got the best possible news from left tackle Trent Williams, who has been sidelined all week with a groin injury.
Williams was concerned after he was injured during the team’s Monday night loss to the Ravens that he might not be able to play in a quick turnaround. After limited practices Wednesday and Thursday, it appeared he might be on track to be listed as questionable on the injury report.
Instead, he wasn’t on the roster, meaning he’ll be ready to go when he visits Washington for the first time since the Chiefs traded him to the 49ers during the 2020 NFL Draft. Here’s the full injury report: DT Arik Armstead (foot, knee) S Ji’Ayir Brown (knee) TE Ross Dwelly (ankle) WR Jauan Jennings (concussion) OT Jaylon Moore (concussion) Head coach Kyle Shanahan announced Friday that Brown struggled to get through Week 17, a positive sign for his chances to play in the season finale against the Rams at Levi’s Stadium. G Aaron Banks (toe) LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (illness) RB Jordan Mason (illness) CB Ambry Thomas (knee, hand) Mason was sick to finish the week, which puts his status in doubt.
Banks is also working through a toe injury he suffered against the Ravens. He did not participate in all three days of practice. LT Trent Williams (groin) WR Deebo Samuel (neck) LB Oren Burks (knee) LB Dre Greenlaw (shoulder) DT Javon Hargrave (hamstring) RB Elijah Mitchell (knee) QB Brock Purdy (left shoulder) Everyone in that group participated Friday and was not included in the final injury report.
They should all go on Sunday Gray’s training window opened after he missed the first 16 weeks with a shoulder injury. He is still technically on IR, so he is listed as questionable. If the team wants to play him, he must be activated from the injured list and moved to the active list. That roster move landed on Saturday before the game.
