In his statement, Voracek expressed gratitude to both organizations, his teammates, and the fans who supported him throughout his career. “After much consideration, I have decided to retire from professional hockey. These past 15 seasons have been more than I ever dreamed of, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to play for such passionate fans and alongside incredible teammates,” Voracek said.

Voracek, a native of Kladno, Czech Republic, was known for his playmaking abilities, strong presence on the ice, and consistent performance throughout his NHL tenure. Drafted seventh overall by the Blue Jackets in the 2007 NHL Draft, Voracek returned to Columbus in 2021 after spending ten seasons with the Flyers, where he became a fan favorite and a pivotal part of the team.

His dedication to the game and his presence in the locker room will be greatly missed. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

As Voracek closes this chapter of his professional life, he plans to spend more time with his family and explore new opportunities outside of professional hockey. His retirement marks the end of an era for both franchises and his many fans worldwide.
